With the old ways of doing things coming apart at the seams maybe its time Artists proclaimed a new world order "the United States of Art" !

Of course all flags proclaim ownership of a patch of earth.. so an artists flag needed to be flying over the sea. The sea is of course a metaphor for that fluid space from which ideas emerge.

Sometimes you make a work and know it has meaning to you.. this simple work has a number of meanings to me.. visually I am playing with reality. The abstract landscape on the flag is more recognisable "real" that the "real" photographic landscape.

On another level it is a flag for art.. which defines the territory of art and artists. But this territory is fluid expansive and appears amorphous.
