Painting - Acrylic On Canvas
A Merritt Island orange grove owner painted an American Flag on the side of this old Florida Cracker house near the Kennedy Space Center. It was to honor the 9-11 tragedy. I like the notion that this seems to be full of symbols. The American flag, of course, being the most obvious. The orange is a symbol of the state of Florida. The cabbage palm in the background is the Florida state tree. I like that the orange grove is untended for the most part and yet it is still producing a crop. The old building was once the home for a sharecropper and is now used as a barn.
