Foothills Of The Rockies
Painting - Manipulated, Enhaced Photograph
This is a view looking southwest toward the Rocky Mountains from the western edge of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. It always takes my breath away to see the mountains rise up out of the prairies like this. These are very young mountains, geologically speaking, so they are quite pointy. In a million years or so, the elements will have worn them down until all that is left are gentle, rolling hills like most of the Ozark Mountain range on the opposite side of the continent.
