Description:

This painting was inspired by the tragedy of 911 and is the artist’s impression of the event. The "Jihad" as they call it, waged on the United States that sad day had a huge impact on the artist, life as we had known it, and the innocence and freedoms we took for granted as Americans, all ended that day. The circle of fire represents the Holy Spirit, the cross represents Jesus’ forgiveness in his own crucifixion and persecution as he gazed at his tormentors from the cross with his eyes filled with perfect love, and forgave them. He shines his light on the world and into our hearts if we accept him into our lives. The key is forgiveness, this will set hearts free to allow his perfect love to flow again, and as Jesus said "Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do."
