Description:
The “Fresh Air” poster has been hanging on my wall now for about two years. My wife bought me the wooden pipe at an antique dealer for use as a prop for still life paintings. Upon receiving it, I hung it on the wall over the poster. Hmmm..I see a painting here. Although I do not do still life paintings as a rule, it inspired me to not only do a painting of the pipe and paper but also three other small still life paintings at the same time. This was the first of the series. The other three are small 8x10 format oils on Masonite exploring what I could call “den art” as they are definitely suitable for a man’s space rather than that of a women’s. You can see this whole series of paintings on Fine Art America produced where they are reproduced in various sizes as Giclee prints on demand.
