Frozen Shadows On The Grand
Hanne Lore Koehler
Painting - Watercolor
The Grand River is the largest river entirely in Ontario. It's source is near the Bruce Peninsula and it flows southward to Lake Erie. The Mohawk name for the Grand River, O:se Kenhionhata:tie means "Willow River". The river was named Grande Riviere by the French during the 18th century. The anglicized form of the French name has remained in common use. The Grand River flows through many communities. This painting is of the Grand River in winter as it flows through the center of the city of Cambridge with many historical sites, heritage buildings, trails and parks on its banks. Many movies have been filmed in this picturesque northern city. Come for a unique shopping experience or just for a visit! We take pride in our hospitality.
