Kengai Copper Bonsai wall sculpture

Design Notes
Kengai bonsai trees are grown such that the trunk and branches stretch down below the roots. They droop down from their pots. The curvature of line in the trunk and branches hanging down at a sharp
angle from the pot is the feature point in observation. Kengai is said to be one of the oldest bonsai form.
About Its Metalic Creation
This tree was was made with much care and consideration to detail. It was entirely made by hand and its a one of a kind sculpture. This piece differs from most of my trees because it is based on a real tree which I sketched and modelled to suit my intentions.
Five major shapes of 26 gauge copper were cut using my favorite shears in a curling manner. They were used to form the base of each major mass. All metal parts were all soldered to the trunk which had been cut from a thicker gauge copper using a sawframe. All Forms meant for leaves were thoroughly cleaned and finished with a standard "Veridis" green patina. The trunk was carefully painted with a fine brush with a "liver of sulfer" colorizing process. Afterward the whole piece was coated with a matte finish acrylic coating that serves to protect the finish from water and stops further tarnishing. The entire metalic structure is firmly attached to its base by prongs that were buried into sanded resin 1/8 inch thick. Its is framed in a painted base custom made from 3 separate sheets of customly cut plexiglass glued together with resin. It weighs approximately 5lbs.
Be careful for bumps and bens because this will harm the finish.
