The far, far northern tip of a powerful thunderstorm that dropped a killer tornado on Streator, Illinois...about 40-50 miles south of my place. Taken off the front porch looking south. This shot was near the end of the storm's unbelievable fury, just before sunset (taking place about 90 degrees to the right), but she went out in a blaze of glory. That flash in the center is a burst of cloud-to-cloud lightning. The unpredictable winds can be seen in patterns created within the cloud. This was beyond awesome to witness.
And, yes...the sky outside the storm was that brilliantly blue near the upper corners. See also, my: "Maelstrom". :))
