Gandharva Tal And Mount Shivaling
Photograph - Photographic Print
A stunning place high above roads and electricity. Reached by a two day hike, a climb over a glacier and up beside a waterfall. Approximately 4500 meters/13,500 feet above sea level. The lake is fed by natural snow melt and helps feed the sub-glacial aquifer that becomes the source of the holy Ganges river at Gangotri, below. The mountain, Shivaling, is a sacred peak in Hinduism.
