Description:
Pralaya Part 2: Genesis of the Elder God (1)
The vigor of a Creation entire; the whole complete sum
Held together, and bound in a fragile null
Now found two poles where afore there was none.
In an instant, Nature shuddered
Drawing first breath against the tranquil Still;
Exhaling, expanding free, in the vacuous Void.
She leapt like a beast, exploding among stars
Unfolding relief, unfurling out space-time.
In the merest millionth part of a scrap of brief time
Shakthi tore lose to grant the cosmos’ coming
Whirled up together, or exploring jealous alone
Dancing new rhythms to spell the orbits of the suns.
On two opposing poles, harmony she told to run;
A bird on two wings, or a fish drumming fins.
In that first instant, she caught a light ray in her hands,
It beat about, oscillating, there between the planes
Showering out forces in electro-magnet fields
The first quivering electron lay quiet on her palm.
Thus upon the loom of the dual the first atoms spun out
As the early gurgling chuckles of the newborn One.
They too were gathered, and twisted about
Spelling out words to recite molecular sums.
Stars formed anchors to chain down the planets;
Whole worlds bounded, freed from gaseous giants.
And joyous though her beginning, it was also an end
Of an all-embracing omnipresence that all call Friend.
For in the world of the dual, some parts play in the sun
While others lie hidden, hurting, and known to none.
Its eyes now lowered, passed the silent bliss of the All
Yielding to partial slumber of the mind’s hollow Dumb.
Thus was I nursed, on fields of burning suns
The dark being formed first, before the radiant ones.
Listen to my tale, and tell me now true:
Am I god or beast, or something new?
Search through my tale of the light and the dark,
Read what she carved on my roaring wretched heart.
