George W. Bush
Drawing - Charcoal On Card Paper (2011)
George W. Bush was one of the most controversial presidents in recent American history. Viewed by some as a noble leader and by others as a puppet to his vice president, however one feels, George Bush inspired an emotional response. As such he is often credited with the polarization of recent American politics. As president he presided over the response to the September 11th attack on New York and engaged in two somewhat unpopular wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. President Bush introduced a form of universal drug benefits for retirees which earned him respect and a strong voting base in the older generations. George Bush's colloquial public statements were often the target of comedians and foreign press.
