Description:

The song; In my vision, I visit other worlds. In my vision, I am floating beyond moon and stars. The Star People glimmer, lighting my way, sister Magpie warbles prayers to the unfolding day. Antelope leap and glide across the undulating plains far beneath my feet; simple, streamlined forms the color of earth and dry fragrant grasses. They are the embodiment of silent, ethereal grace. I visit a place where the sweet, icy waters of infinite purity tumble, gurgling and flowing between the banks of whispering, dew kissed grasses, lush and profuse. Here my Mother, the land, is neither scarred nor divided by the sharp, twisted barbed wire of artificial boundaries and greedy hearts. I visit a place where my ancestors dance toward me, open armed and joyous with freedom. I have found the place of vision, peace and balance. I've come home. I find myself coming back to this painting many times. I can't quite put my finger on what it is that is drawing me to it. I feel a closeness to the figure, like it is a portrait of a relative or someone who is very dear and close to my heart. Very nice painting.

I painted it after returning from a sundance a number of years ago. People there were talking about the old ghost dance and this image grew from the entire expereince.
