Glacial Lake And The Matterhorn Peak Near Zermatt Switzerland
Photograph - Prints Or Digital Files
The famous Matterhorn peak and its surrounding glaciers in the background set against a cloudless blue sky and below are dark green evergreen forests and deep U-shaped valleys scoured by now melted valley-glaciers. There is a small tarn or glacial lake still seen in the lower right with its rich whitish-blue (turquoise) milky color water resulting from suspended eroded rock particles in the water produced by the grinding of glaciers to produce "glacier milk".
