Description
The golden lobster Boston landmark photographed by New England and Boston based photographer Juergen Roth. The golden lobster weathervane, located on top of the James Hook Lobster Company in Boston, is a famous landmark situated at the Boston waterfront, next to the old Atlantic Avenue Bridge. In 1925 the James Hook Lobster Company was founded when James Hook and his sons caught lobsters in Maine and New Brunswick and bringing them to Boston for sale to restaurants. The family business is now in its 3rd generation. In 2008 New Englanders watched the iconic Hook business burn to the ground on live TV news. The devastation did not burn the spirit of the Hook family and the family proudly rebuilt their lobster company. This shiny golden lobster is part of the renewal. One can still walk up and order a lobster or lobster roll right from the window ~ give it a try when you visit in Boston.
