Painting - Acrylic On Canvas
This painting is modeled on two separate photos I took from two of Michigan's Great Lakes shorelines. One from Lake Michigan's shoreline near Frankfort Harbor as a sailboat glided into port. The other near the conclusion of a steady rain on Lake Huron from the shoreline near Port Austin. The sun was just breaking through the mist and rain as the storm gradually disippated. Using a photo-editor I pieced the two shots together and painted this scene. I tried to convey a sense of peace and calm in the midst of adverse conditions. The sort of peace that seems to be granted from beyond troubled immediate circumstances evoking a sense of hope even a suggestion of a promise of better things in times to come.
