Description
This is Calle Oficios, a narrow pedestrian street off the Gran Via de Granada. To the right is Granadas Cathedral and the Capila Real, a chapel built as a mausoleum for the Catholic Kings, Ferdinand and Isabel who conquered Granada in 1492. The chapel was built between 1505 and 1517 in the Gothic style. The Cathedral itself took 181 years to build and Baroque elements were introduced in the construction. The building in the foreground is from a later date but the different styles and tones of architecture blend well. In this watercolour I enjoyed painting the warm colours and the detail in the buildings.
