Grand Canyon View
Painting - O/c
A view of the "Canyon" fogged in with late afternoon sun from the south rim. The north rim can be slightly seen through the fog. Standing near the edge of the south rim and looking down, the abyss beckons the viewer. The pine trees in the foreground seem to hold a special view of the vast canyon below. The fog keeps the viewer from being able to see the bottom of the canyon, adding mystery to the sun drenched scene. Shadows in the canyon turn more powder blue in the distance. The vast distance seen from one rim to the other makes one wonder what might be below. Looking at this painting makes one wonder about the beginning of time itself. How many years must it have taken the mighty Colorado to carve this amazing scene in the American southwest? One is awestruck by the silence and scope of this huge landscape. Only the birds can fully grasp the depth and breadth of the Grand Canyon National Park.
