Grapes On The Vine
Photograph - Photohraph
Living within a stones throw from California's famous Napa valley certainly has it's advantages. Typically I go in streaks on visitng the wineries. There are times when it seem slike I'll go a number of weekends in a row and then won't visit for months.
I do prefer the late summer and fall for shoting any images at the wineries as the grape vines are full of foilage and bursting with fruit. Right around harvest time the vines start changing color as most broad leaf trees do at this time of year.
This image was taken with a techinque known as shoot through. As the name suggest, the object is to shoot through an object that is up against or extremely close to the lense. In this case I focesed on the bundle of grapes while the green leaf rested up against the side of the lense. This allowed me to frame the bundle of grapes in the left with the green leaf from the vine. The leaf is out of focus but recognizable.
