Drawing - Colored Pencils On Paper
Hot Jazz moments.Pencils grabbed frantically moving as Glenn Fong and Clayton Cameron jammed. I jammed, unknown to them, improvising my shapes and forms with the music.
This piece was created by internationally published commercial and fine artist Gita Lloyd. Gita Lloyd's works hang in The U.S. Congress in
Washington DC; Pasadena, California; & in private, public & corporate
collections throughout the U.S. She is an award winning artist earning a U.S.Congressional Award for her public work series, Bakersfield ALIVE! which also earned Certificates of Special Recognition from the State of California. Early in her career she worked in the Hollywood animation industry for biggest cartoon and publishing houses in the world. Throughout the years, she developed her private fine arts work as painter and sculptor. She is a charismatic and passionate speaker about the role of the artist in society and enjoys teaching.
Gita Lloyd is old fashioned following the Impressionist's and early 20th Century's Expressionists desires to directly interpret their world actively, with emotion and power. Ms Lloyd says, "No weak Art!"
Gita Lloyd describes her work as Dionysian. A late arriver by choice and necessity, to the current fine art scene. I've worked as a painter, arts performer, arts teacher and arts speaker. But as Gauguin put it, " It is enough that the artist has worked to create a link in the chain that is art."
Her work is active and observed. She would define her works as abstract though subjective and expressionistic. Her intention is always experiential. Her observed works are records of a people, a time and a place. Picasso said, "Art is a great way to keep a diary."
She has performed exhibition painting in cities in the west.
"I've painted an opera, musicians, politicians, children, dancers, auto racers, athletes, Ray Bradbury as he speaks, race car drivers, a pow wow. People like to watch." go find me > search for > gita lloyd
