Description:

A variety of lovely forests that skirt the spectacular Columbia River Gorge area contain numerous unexpected, spectacular, and soothing waterfalls. Haiku Falls is a miniature paralax, which presents images and ideas from multiple perspectives, of one such setting. These falls, of course, are stylized. Raw-edge cut and stitched fabrics are used to convey the downward motion of the waterfall. Other fabrics are pieced to express the background on different levels. Stitches enhance the continuity of the quilt. New: the title of the quilt is interrupted by its imagery.
