Harpooning The Whale
Painting - Acrylic On Wood
Harpooning the Whale is a woodcarving created by James Neill of Ozark, Missouri.
It depicts a fisherman that is harpooning a whale on a blustery winter's day on the sea.
The woodcarving is made out of pine wood. It is painted with several coats of
acrylic paint and touch stained to perfection. The carving tools he uses are all
over 40 years old. He carves and paints all the work himself.
The size of the woodcarving is 25 inches wide by 25 inches tall and 2 inch wide.
James Neill has woodcarved since the age of eight. He learned his craft from his Dad
and a woodcarver in Cape Cod.
