Painting - Acrylic On Canvas
The original painting is also available.
The last blooms of Summer give way to the leaves of Autumn. The pathway to the lower beach is overgrown; it will be there still when the hills are barren, and the windswept shoreline gives up shells and beach-glass that we miss in Summer's playful days. This rare warm day before the Autumn comes in earnest is a wondrous time of transition, not Summer, not yet Fall. A moment out of time, caught here, on Harvest Hill.
Nothing can steal your heart away
Quicker than Indian Summer days,
When the sun is warm and the shadows are cool,
The lake water stands like a bright blue pool.
The warm sand begs you to bare your feet
The balmy air is meadow-sweet,
Leaves are falling from colorful trees,
And nature has moved in, merely to tease...
She comes with her warm days, just to betray...
For winter is only a breath away!
