Painting - O/c
The famous Cape Hatteras light on a clear sunny day with its reflection in for ground water and people on the sand dunes in the distance. The light house is being viewed from the beach with a pool of tide water between the viewer and the sand dunes at the base of the light house. Foam in the water with shadows underneath along with the reflection of the light house are in the immediate foreground. Brightly clothed tourists can be seen in the distance at the base of the sand dunes near the tower. Sea grass is also covering the sand dunes. The light house is standing tall against a blue and white summer sky. It is highlighted from the left and the contrasting blue and white stripes can be seen far out at sea. In the far distant horizon you can see a hint of a tree line. Light houses in this part of the world have be especially tall because of the low shoreline. The North Carolina shore is a dangerous place and the light house keeper is a hero to many a ships captain. This oil painting is protected by copy right.
