New York, ny - United States

no words can express what youve created here paul.violence against women is so swept under the carpet, tolerated or explained away far too often, and the worst is when they blame the woman herself.her eyes show the terror hurt and sadness so well paul,a very meaningful important work this is:) l/f

Pilot Mound, MB - Canada

I normally abhor images of violence. I've seen enough pain in my life to want to crawl into a hole. Regardless, this image captures the hell I've endured, and the spirit of survival and hope. Bravo! I'll be buying one soon.

I've got sour grapes. This should have taken the Mouses' 1st place. This painting has raw emotions, not contrieved ones.It radiates gut wrenching horror or terror or sorrow or all of these qualities.Pain is running through the viens of this person. And those screeming eyes. With out a doubt this is not a fluff for a house wall but a statement for society and a place of prominence on a museum wall. One of your best.

Paul Lovering replied:

Awwwwwwwwwwwww dear Susan how kind and how touched am I that support for this portrait !.. You so made my day , and what a thrill you see the emotion and sorrow in this portrait , my best wishes for a Fab weekend .. Paulxx

Sarasota, FL - United States

Hello again Paul! After reading all these heartfelt comments, I just had to add that if you EVER had doubt that your works touch the very core of the viewer of art such as this, then I hope that doubt has forever been erased! And the story behind the art? Could it be anymore horrifying then what anyone can imagine? Your image will clarify those emotions & raise the awareness of any "doubting Thomas" who takes the time to view this very special piece. You dug deep to cleanse your spirit of what you saw. You allowed us a glimpse into a terrible situation with the stroke of your brush and emotions that only a "bystander" could convey on behalf of all the victims of similar situations! Thank you again, for this outstanding piece.......another facet of all things Paul Lovering!

Paul Lovering replied:

You know Ron when I read your compelling messages I am on cloud nine , the verve and inspiration flows through my body !...it was a taking a chance posting my thoughts with watercolour , but Your and all these supportive comments tell me that I have done the right thing !..... I thank you so much for your wise words my friend , wishing you a wonderful weekend regards Paul

I think I stared at this for ten minutes. And my heart was sunk and deeply saddened. This is so truly exceptional, Paul. I really feel for this woman and am just riveted by her haunted eyes and swollen mouth. I don't like to go on and on with words but I have to say that this is one of the most compelling images I've ever laid my eyes on.

Paul Lovering replied:

Dear Jen that is just one hellva comment my dear friend , I am so so sorry to have saddened you , but thrilled by your wonderful response ! My special thanks Paulx

Allen, Te - United States

Paul, When I left you a message a day ago I was so emotionally moved by this image I could not get everything out I wanted to say. You have a beautiful heart Paul. Your mention of all proceeds from this work going right to Violence Against Women proved that. My family has forever been changed due to this very crime. My 20 year old neice was kidnapped from her own home, raped & murdered. She was at my house only hours early. I fed her her last meal. Our hearts are on a very long road of healing but we will never be without scars & haunting memories from court. Thank you for such an amazing special work! Blessings f/v

Paul Lovering replied:

Awwwwwwwwww Bless !!!!! Your story of your niece is just horrendous Robert , gosh how our facade shows little of our own stories , some good and some bad , my heart goes out to you and your family , a long road indeed with those always mental scars ... You know Robert your a shinning light and your lovely kind nature is testament to a healing process and compassion that so resonates in your persona here on FAA . Thank you for this compelling comment my friend , I send my very best wishes .... Paul

Smithfield, VA - United States

Dear Paul, The suffering and hurt, physical and emotional, showing in this abused woman's face expresses a universal problem that makes me so very sad. I applaud you for your donations to such a worthy cause. I'm a gentle soul and even have a hard time killing an insect and I would not hurt a flea. So it is difficult to understand the people who hurt others. Perhaps they don't have a conscience. Perhaps they are on drugs. But no matter what, there is no excuse in the world..... Thanks again for bringing our attention to this fact in our society, often hidden, because the victim is afraid to speak out, as if petrified by fear. Your work is always remarakable. I learn so much from visiting your site. Good wishes to you dear Paul. F/V

Paul Lovering replied:

Thank you so much dear Anne , the unsaid and unheard is a large part of the problem apart from unbelievable behaviour , no excuse I agree , the compassion in some does not exist in some !, but Hey .... To help is a small thing , and the generous support by You and all these fantastic friends really gives a sense of GOOD !, you so made my day .... Glass in hand and a special cheers .. Paul

Kamloops, BC - Canada

Paul, I have only known you for a short time, but your compassion and kindness and sensitivity are palpable! You were moved deeply by this experience and you have shared it with us...you are brave to bare your soul and to speak out for those who have been victimized. This is so powerful...the eyes say it all, Paul...something in her will be lost forever ... and there will be a place inside that will be closed off and shut down, never to see the light again. Tragic. V/F

Paul Lovering replied:

Dear Sandi the elephant in the room exists all over the world , my accidental at being chosen to be part of this jury gave me a wake up call !.. I live in my own bubble just like many of us , but to help and expose something like this should be addressed by our politicians , so to collect such support by You and all these wonderful community members is a real thrill ! , my special thanks for knowing me in your short time . Bless !

Adma, Ke - Lebanon

Yes that's true, Paul, we artists have our work to fight our demons, but the victim, ... Still, I'm sorry you had to go through this and hope the verdict was reached and you do not have to return there tomorrow my friend. Another sign of the great soul and heart you are, giving the benefits for the cause! And of course the work is fabulous, sooo deep and haunting, yes, Voted, favorited and shared on FB. Congrats to you and to dear Clotilde for the first sale. Take care, Paul. Waving a hug from over the Mediterranean all the way to you and the poor victim. May Ling

Paul Lovering replied:

Dear May what a lovely kind compelling comment , the horrific nature of this mans crimes sent me in a spin , and the poor victim I can only hope the support and thoughts by many , will help her back to some kind of life .... All these thoughtful words affirm my belief in the human spirit again , I thank you sooooooooooo much my friend ... Happy weekend sent first class back to you ... Paulx

Peekskill, NY - United States

Haunting work. Touching tribute in the description as well. For such a sensitive positive artist, your 14 days at court as a juror must have been harrowing and unforgettable. V/F

Paul Lovering replied:

Awwwwwwwwww yes dear Greta a real shock to the system , but my state of mind is released in my art , the victims may never recover !.. Bless my friend I appreciate your kind words , regards Paul
