The Cathedral and Basilica of St. Louis, King of France in the French Quarter of New Orleans, Louisiana. The cathedral is located on Jackson Square, the original center of the "Big Easy". The Cathedral has pride of place in the middle of the block that faces the Mississippi River and the levee/Moon Walk This photo was taken in June 2012 on a Sunday right after the 11 a.m. mass ended...which was as long as they could keep the tourists out and quiet I think. The tourists flooded inside immediately afterwards. Although the entire experience was uplifting (of course), my camera lens did not point heavenward for spiritual reasons. This shot is the result of having to "shoot around" all the extra people--and fortunately they weren't able to go UP. Actually I realized I really liked this shot once I looked through them later. It's always the shots you don't expect to work that do!
