Hide And Seek
Photograph - Photography
This is a macro shot of a white Rose of Sharon blossom that I took while visiting a friend had her flower garden. As I walked through the gardens, out of the corner of my eye, I saw this blossom. It was hidden, as if not wanting to be noticed. I like the color of the blossom and the detail on the stamen.
Rose of Sharon, Hibiscus syriacus, isn't a rose, but its large, flat blossoms and nectar attract hummingbirds and tiny insects that hummers also eat. The flowers on this woody shrub come in several colors, including white, pink, purple, and red. Its leaves don't come out until late in spring, causing false alarms in gardeners who think their plants may have died. Native to India and East Asia, it is the national flower of Korea.
I hope you have enjoyed this photograph and will share it with others. You can see more of my work on my homepage in th various galleries I have created. Your comments on my work are greatly appreciated. Thank you for visiting and please come back..
