I like your flower work alot, but I love your metals. I had not seen this one before and think it is fabulous. Especially the silver rings or whatever they are called, they look like real metal. Sweet.
Ken Powers replied:
Thank you Sandra! I got to borrow this very old set of pipes from my Father-In-Law in order to paint them. I was going to do a few more versions but I was afraid to have them around the house as the kids couldn't keep away from them!

A Hieland laddie to be sure. Can you play the bagpipes and are you in fact - Scottish?? Such fun these look but I am aware of the intricate side to this painting - as with all your paintings of course. I came again to say a thank you for your kind comments on my Escape. er..um.. weeeelll - you know!

Once again, you've outdone yourself. This obviously took alot of planning & sketching to get everything just right. It's such a wonderful piece relecting alot of skill in the way it's composed & painted.

Ken - You have certainly done the Grainger bagpipes justice! I really like the different perspectives you have taken in this particular series, and this painting is wonderful with most of the pipes sticking straight up. Your colors and shadows are excellent. Again, I especially like the way you painted the bag and the way you have them displayed.
