Sculpture - Photograph
This is a photograph on moss. Just as nature presented itself at my front door. The Hope inspired by this cross is a promise to the followers of Christ, who gave His life as a ransom for many. When ordering this I would suggest that the photograph not be put on a canvas because of the light coming off the center. It looks much prettier on paper....Here is our official bio!
James and Deborah Montana are mixed media artists from East Texas. James primarily works in recycled carbon steel, stainless steel, silicon bronze and found objects. The repurposed metals yield a surprising array of colors and textures as the fire pulls the impurities to the surface, making no two crosses alike. The firing process will always produce a one of a kind mark as unique as your finger print. Some of the crosses are quite colorful under fire, while others are heavily etched in deep, dark tones.
This process is an allegory of our journey with Christ. In the Refiners Fire, we are transformed into the image of Christ as He takes us from glory to glory. As we walk through the fire of the Holy Spirit our impurities rise to the surface and God makes something beautiful out of our imperfections. Our trials on earth etch His signature upon our lives just as surely as our names were eternally etched in the palms of His hands on the cross.
We belong to Him. He belongs to us.
While it is a sobering endeavor to make a cross, where sin and sorrow meet, it is also a place where all mankind can rejoice and find hope. When we embrace the cross, we find the love of our lives in a relationship with Jesus Christ our Savior, Friend, Bridegroom and King.
Deborah seeks the Lord for designs and the Biblical interpretation for each one of a kind creation. She sits with every cross, listens and prays for the person who will eventually own it. The impressions she receives and the scriptures read during that time are hand written on the card that accompanies the cross. These words of love encourage the heart and kiss the soul as only the Lord can do. Deborahs photographs of the crosses and the animals they rescue are the subjects fine prints, paintings, and gift cards. The gift cards and crosses are available by contacting them at the address below. A portion of the proceeds goes to care for animals and
children in distress. We hope you are blessed by the works of our hands as done unto Him!
