Description
"Darby Crash" (I was never quite tame). Acrylic, pastel, oil pastel, spray paint on canvas. This was a commission for Gary Hefferns book "Unholy Dreams" I used heavy outline on his face to give it that good ol' cut and paste look. I used layers and layers of paint and molding paste. And not on purposed was forced to create in a frantic pace which was how all our show flyers were created (including if you look close many many staples on the canvas). Lots of hidden messages to convey a complex person. And yes I did have the pleasure of hanging with him and seeing many Germs shows. Was always very cool and always left me with the impression of being kind of lost. I just love making Punk rock era art and especially involving people I have a connection to.
