Description:
“Summer Evening Near Ingles Mountain is an oil pastel of a field scene in Radford, Virginia near Ingles Mountain. This mountain was named after the Ingles family. Mary Draper Ingles walked 850 miles to her home in 1775 after being captured by Indians and her story “The Long Way Home” has been performed in Radford for many years. It was designated the Virginia Historic Outdoor Drama of the Commonwealth. Oftentimes in this region there is a pink glow in the sky that I like to capture in my landscapes. It is usually only there for a half an hour or so at dusk. To see more of my work put my name in Google and click on the first entry which is a direct link.
