I notice that this cat looks more realistic than your other drawings. The others, like the Rhino, look more like illustrations (very good illustration) that you would see in a book. Do you draw with different styles on purpose?

Thanks all for your lovely comments! Jennifer - I've only been using charcoal for about three months, so I'm still trying to figure out what works. The more realistic drawings like this one, the turtle and the deer I copied from my own photographs. For the others like the rhino, cougar and wolves I used reference photos that were not mine (meaning I can't copy them), so they didn't come out quite as realistic. It's my hope, though, that the more I practice, the better I'll get.

Beautiful drawing and it looks so furry and soft. True, every cat owner has experienced this familiar pose. Great job, Heather.

She's purrfect! You really did an excellent job with all aspects of this, her fur is exceptionally well done but her attitude of expectation is what really comes shining through.
