John Dillinger -- Public Enemy No. 1
This portrait was taken of John Dillinger when he was initially captured by the Tucson, Arizona Police Force and extradited by airplane to Crown Pointe, Indiana.
After he made his daring escape from the Crown Pointe Jail, Dillinger made a statement (included in quotes at the bottom of the Poster) to a friend approximately six months before his death at the age of 31 by blazing FBI guns outside of Chicago's Biograph Theater in 1934.
Of particular interest in this photo is his slight grin, his penetrating gaze, and the supreme confidence of his demeanor (although wholly in police custody).
