Description:

This is one of my favorite paintings--I actually have it up on my wall! I executed this piece with a very loose drawing and layers of translucent oil wash. I worked fairly with a split palette and achieved a simple, yet visually stimulating portrait of the legendary blues musician.

Had this written & damn cat jumped up & deleted it. Your works are worth going at it again, though, Michael. Anyway, yup! That's how John Lee looked, some time back. Saw him several times in 80s; brother-in-law played bass for him in 70s. Anyway, what a great variety of styles and subjects here, & you get em right every time! But, how can you do, after John Lee, Brando, Mojo, etc. such a sympathetic portrait of McCain?! Guess I m narrow-minded! Peace, etc., Bruce
