Keawakapu Kahaulani Maui Sunset

This is a wonderful beach at the south end of Kihei as you enter Wailea.
While not clearly evident in my photograph, the sandy beach is perfect for sandcastle building and swimming, snorkeling and boogie board. While I was here, and actually at the very moment I took this picture, there were many people on the beach, walking their dogs, playing with their children, or simply enjoying the beautiful sunset!
This actually was the first time I had visited this beach. The first thing I saw was a sign advising of "Honu" sea turtles and to protect them. And I saw an outdoor shower, which is so nice when leaving the beach to wash off the sand.
I saw in the distance to the right, homes and resorts and beautiful scenery.
I met people and spoke with them, and they told me how much they love this beach and how it is one of their favourite beaches on the entire island. A few of the people I met are home owners and walk out here to this beach every day.
There is plenty of parking space nearby, there is a wooden stairway down to a landing where the shower is, then continue down to the beach, and just take off your shoes and soak up the beauty of Maui, this beautiful shoreline and gorgeous scenery.
