Sculpture - 1/72nd Scale Hand Carved Wooden Model
1/72 scale model, more than 10 feet long, weighing 80 kilos, of the King George V battleship, the flagship of the Royal Navy in the Pacific theatre of operations, during the final moments of the surrender of Japan in 1945. Saw action around Leyte Gulf in the Phillipines, the King George V survived the war and was eventually scrapped in 1957.This model taking 6 months to make, all from wood, more than 4000 pieces, all hand carved and hand painted, modelled form the 1943 version of the Battleship
