Montvale, VA - United States

Liked your beautiful painting and commentary. L

Klagenfurt - Austria

I love this painting. Such great colors and mood to this! v/f as well as feature!

Livonia, MI - United States

Beautiful abstract of an ugly organization. So sad there seems to be a market for their hatred still, with this group still existing to this seemingly more enlightened time. vf

Mijas, Ma - Spain

Powerful and ominous... love the deep, intense colours and the socially interesting subject matter and write-up v/f

Melbourne - Australia

Strong image, powerful write up. That's an organisation that gives me the chills. A criminal organisation imo, with the appearance of 'righteousness' (shudder!) To me they have always seemed to be modern (and not so modern) Nazi's. Incomprehensible to me to be so hate filled that one feels justified in killing because of colour, race, or belief! VF wish I could vote 100times over!!!! Bravo Lenore.

Providence Village, TX - United States

Very strong and beautiful image Lenore!!!

Sydney, NS - Australia

There is nothing like the Artist's expression of heartfelt reaction to social issues, and here you have artistically and emotionally completely given us the full force of your disdain, and are so right in that......what a fine personal statement....I join you in horror that these clans can/do still invade the innocents' lives, anywhere!.Thank you for raising this awareness.........Vivian

Santa Rosa, CA - United States

Very strong, powerful work of art Lenore!!! v/f

Chicago, IL - United States

oh v/f as well ;)

Chicago, IL - United States

Lenore, Thank you for bringing to the front the fact this organization is not dead..in fact is thriving in many states in the USA. It's done quietly and secretly(after all not many want their neighbors knowing..),but the hatred they spread is of the worse sort. These are people that are not comfortable with themselves, they are not happy and need an excuse for their unhappiness and dissatisfaction. ....My picture Broken Soul is about the same issues we face. But intolerance is a killer, mostly of the intolerant, but left unchecked it can kill others as well. And I firmly believe it does break souls.

Kathmandu, Ba - Nepal

Absolutely stunning work...!

Oxenford, Qu - Australia

Powerful and disturbing Lenore, you have created a deeply thought provoking image, combined with a distressing write up. I had thought the KKK was a defunct organisation, however after reading your article it is obvious that this hate filled mob is still a dangerous force in the US..

Very nice work and as usual title too. V/F

Culleoka, TN - United States

Excellent work, Lenore. I like that you made them look like flames, because as a group, they are inflammatory. Vote.

Canton, MI - United States

Beautiful work Lenore. Hard for me to understand this blind hatred.

Great work Lenore

Portsmouth, NH - United States

As always your art makes a statement, which is well appreciated. v/f

Storybrooke, ME - United States

Outstanding image and powerful statement. You would think by this point in time, they would be nothing more than a sinful historical footnote. Selling fear has become big business in this country ... so they continue on. .. v/f

Awesome image and colors~shocking description!!! V/F

New Hope, MN - United States

My interpretation of your interpretive painting is, I see the bad guys holding court among the red hot flames in hell. I love how you have included just a little bit of the beauty of the blue sky above them. Very nicely done. V

Bellingen, NS - Australia

Beautiful work and this work needs to be out there for all to see along with the message it conveys. This racial hatred the world over is so horrible. Congratulations for not being afraid to make a statement and standing up for what you believe

Anderson, CA - United States

Outstanding, beautiful work Lenore with a powerful message; thank you for the awesome description as well ! jd

South Lake Tahoe, CA - United States

Amazing work Lenore. v/f

Encampment, WY - United States

The fires of hatred and fear have never been more chillingly and dramatically conveyed! And while the terror of intolerance and violence seethe from this image, it yet manages to be totally gorgeous visually. Absolutely amazing! I appreciate your description, too -- I didn't realize the Klan was still so powerful. To me it's like hearing that Norse Vikings have raided a coastal town.

Castrop - Rauxel, NR - Germany

Wonderful abstract and the red shades have a scary touch.......goes so well with the shocking story you tell us here Lenore .....voted for - Chris.

Greenacres, FL - United States

Exterior image: White robe and a rope to lynch blacks and sometimes to lynch others who fight to help liberate blacks.... but you now show the interior of evil. This is an image of BLOOD. Blood shed by ignorance. Blood spilled by KKK - the white hood. (not different from today's case of Trayvon in Florida) - the more things change, the more things remain the same.....hence, the racist southern law states "Stand your ground!"

Tel- Aviv, Is - Israel

Isn't it amazing what ignorence can do?! Such an important image Lenore, thank you!

Strykersville, NY - United States

This image is so disconcerting Lenore - brilliantly done, but troubling. I remember when I first moved to Texas coming face to face with the reality of the KKK. My horror over their blatant self-promotion shaped my teaching career really. You've shared a powerful description here too - something we should all take to heart. Art should provoke a response...yours certainly does that. Bravo.

Dublin, Ab - Ireland

Beautiful abstract..love the flamy colors ,,sad story/reality..as it's still somehow.

Lakeland, FL - United States

Todays gangs are yesterdays KKK, They only exchanged the white sheets for red and blue rags, powerful message Lenore...

Dubai, DE - United Arab Emirates

So nice abstract art work. The warm colors here are very attractive.

Bucharest, Ro - Romania

Wow !!!! Lenore, love this so, so much....... Great vibrant colors. Oh, my ..... reading your description was shocking to me. f,v. _____ Ana

Lenore Senior replied:

Ana~The KKK arose in the South around the time of the Civil War (1864). You may have seen pictures of them in their white robes and pointed hoods. Black men were certainly targets in those days, and still....

Bollebygd - Sweden

Fantastic abstract! For me as a Swede it was interresting and scary reading your words.

Lenore Senior replied:

I was thinking of you when I posted this image as I thought you might like something not a straight photo. And also, those from another country may not know about the history of the KKK, thus the description. Thank you so much for your comments!
