Thanks Don for the comment!! This squirrel was not wounded or whatever: it must have been hit by an oaknut or more likely: the squirrel missed a branch at high level and tumbled on the hard sandy forest path. In Europe we have mostly the red squirrels. There are some grey American squirrels in my area: they were released by a local zoo when the zoo finished business during the 1970s.

Nop, this is just so very cool. I love it! My wife, Lynne ( is a painter in oils and watercolors. I just showed this to her, and as soon as she realized just what was going on, she thought if was fantastic. I love the title. We used to live in Arkansas (USA) and there were big old oak trees all around. When we'd sit on the deck, squirrels would constantly throw nuts down on here. They never did me. Who knows? f/v
