Painting - Watercolor And Ink
The name of this painting is Kristina Iris. It is an illustrative style watercolor painting of a single iris. I drew the art in pencil and then painted in watercolor. I then applied India ink in areas that I felt needed to be emphasized. . . . . . . . . . . . . . The reason it was named Kristina is because I painted it for my nieces bridal shower invitations that I was hosting. Iris are her favorite flower and her wedding colors had the lavender purple of the Iris. I presented her with this original painted framed as a gift and it now hangs in their first home. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . (Information source is from: http://www.easytogrowbulbs.com/g-72-dutch-iris.aspx) Florist and gardeners favor the Dutch iris for their dependability of being pretty and ease of use. They have wonderful colors that fit into any arrangement. Their blooms and strong straight stems work well in bouquets.
