Description
Lucerne is a famous tourist city, located in the north-central part of Switzerland, part of the area of the country which speaks German. The city is a part of the Canton of Lucerne, which surprisingly is part of the district having the same name. The city is famous since it is located on the shore of Lake Lucerne, and is also the starting point for the mountain peaks located in the Alps of Mount Pilatus and Mount Rigi. Inside the city, there is a beautiful bridge called the Chapel Bridge, located across the Reuss River. The bridge is a famous landmark for the city.
A large number of tourists come to the city for the Lake Lucerne, and for ships on the lake. There are cruise ships that go on the lake, and then come to a stop in front of the KKL (the culture museum). KKL is the Culture and Congress Center which also houses a concert hall and the Museum of Art.
