Nancy, First off thank you so much for your kind words about my paintings. I like how you related it to a trip across country. When I can, I point the car in one direction with the so purpose of finding things to paint. Driving around my local area I get to see many of the things I've already done and now have an even greater joy in my heart. I do believe we are of like minds as the subjects and reasons we paint are the same. I really like this painting "Late Autumn Sunset" , with very little detail you have created a powerful feeling that flows from it. I have been there (the scene) many times in my life.
