Leeds Gentleman Flies Again
Painting - Acrylic On Canvas
This painting is my entry into the Merrion Centre 50th anniversary art competition,The painting is based on the Rowland Emett clock which used to stand in the merrion center for many years then it was removed. My young children at the time asked what had happened to it.I told them that the man needed a holiday and wanted to invent more flying machines. In the painting the gentleman is back on a new contraption, flying over Leeds city centre carrying the merrion centre below (Which I had to turn into a wlliy wonker style elivator because it was too big to fit in the painting)
I have heard the original clock is on it's way back to Leeds merrion center.I would love to see it again....
