Now before anyone jumps all over my title and scream "Foul!", the title was chosen by me in jest! Though they are distantly related these are not actually Leopards, they are in fact Leopard Cats, a small specie of wild cat of which there are 12 subspecies found throughout much of South and East Asia.
While I have had people take my title literally and then attempt to set me straight on my misidentification, some have gone on misidentify these felines all the more, suggesting they must be Ocelots, which they most certainly are not. Though very similar in appearance, Leopard Cats (in the wild) only occur in Asia, while Ocelots (in the wild) are only found in the Americas.
The adorable sister cubs you see here are a pair of Leopard Cats born at Khao Kheow Open Zoo, Chonburi Province, Thailand. An absolute delight working with, frisky and playful as they were, but I had to have a couple of sessions with them, and a great deal of patience, before I managed to capture this particular frame I was after!
Many more of my pictures can be seen over on my website - www.ashley-vincent.com - and if you see one there that you would like to purchase as a print but you do not find it over here in my FAA portfolio, please send me a message or email to let me know the picture title and reference number (both of which you will find under all photos in the galleries on my website) and I will post it up here for you immediately.
PLEASE NOTE: The "Fine Art America" watermark only appears on photo you see here online, it will not appear on any printed version you may chose to order.
