Description
Let There Be Light by Karen Cook - The magnificent windows of the Eglise Saint Bernard in Nova Scotia, with afternoon summer sunlight streaming in to illuminate the interior including the pipe organ in the balcony. In the area of Nova Scotia referred to as Acadia, or the French Shore, is the magnificent Eglise Saint Bernard. Eglise is the French word for church. Started in 1910, and finished some 32 years later, the church is an example of Gothic Architecture and has walls made of granite three feet in width! The church was built through the determination of its local people and seats over 1000 people.
In 2022, the church was deconsecrated, meaning there would no longer be mass or services held.
In 2023, the church was listed for sale as the community could no longer afford the upkeep.

Many thanks ladies..I wish you could see this church. It is in the heart of a tiny fishing village...and fills the horizon as you near it.

It is stunning Judy. The village is little more than a single street with this magnificent church as the anchor.
