Having had a choice between staying a third week in South Africa or five days in Madagascar at the end of my last trip to the African continent, I opted for the latter, as after felines primates are my favourite animal family and I've always longed to see Lemurs in the wild, especially my favourite of those, the Ring-Tailed Lemur.
Lemurs in general have such marvellously expressively faces, as so many primates do, but in the case or Lemurs it's probably the way their eyes tend to bulge when fully exposed that lends so well toward their particularly delightful expressions.
This happy little chappy was following his troop - numbering around 14 in all - one afternoon crossing a beaten path that lay between two patches of forested areas. I purposely timed this shot to catch the subject at the peak of its bounce, which frozen in motion gives it the appearance of levitating, or at least that's the way I see it!
Many more of my pictures can be seen over on my website - www.ashley-vincent.com - and if you see one there that you would like to purchase as a print but you do not find it over here in my FAA portfolio, please send me a message or email to let me know the picture title and reference number (both of which you will find under all photos in the galleries on my website) and I will post it up here for you immediately.
PLEASE NOTE: The "Fine Art America" watermark only appears on photo you see here online, it will not appear on any printed version you may chose to order.
