Life Goes On

This was once the living room of a stately estate house on a Virginia farm. It burned long ago leaving only the empty shell of the house. The land and all the outbuildings were abandoned and left for nature to reclaim. I do not know what happened to the family that once called this house home but can gather from the fact that the farm was completely and quickly abandoned that it was an epic tragedy for the family involved. Our time on this Earth is short. Our "possessions" that we think we own are really nothing more than borrowed for a little while.... There is a lesson in this image. Be thankful for the time we have. Regardless of our economic position be happy for the time we have with our family and friends. Be happy with our possessions for the time we are allowed to call them ours. In the big picture of the world as a whole life is hardy and enduring. From an individual point of view life is fragile and precious and be thankful for every minute. Regardless if we appreciate every minute or not, life goes on, with or without us.....
