Lighted High Level Bridge
In 1909 the Canadian Pacific Railway built the longest and highest train bridge in the world over the coulee in Lethbridge Alberta. This wonderful bridge celebrated its 100 anniversary in 2009 and was lit up by a local electrician to show it off. This image shows the night sky behind the bridge as well as the lighting of this engineering wonder. The bridge cost $1.6 million to build and has been in continuous operation ever since it opened in 1909.
