Mick Anderson replied:

Thanks Lori! It was quite a storm :))

Wow this is so beautiful Mick excellent work ! l/f

Mick Anderson replied:

I was very fortunate to have the skies light up like this in front of my camera!! Thank you, Mitch, for the nice comment :))

Stunning. Just stunning. Excellent capture and the color in the sky is perfect.

Mick Anderson replied:

This is one of those times when a fast shutter finger and nature's color come together! Thank you for those warm words :))

Super capture and quote, Mick, f/l

Mick Anderson replied:

Thank you Sandi! This storm went on and on that night :))

Hi Mick...I like your image. A lovely opportunity and you have capitalized on it wonderfully. Nicely done...Cheers Bob f/v

Mick Anderson replied:

Thank you Bob! Without a lot of travel, my opportunities aren't quite as varied, but I do the best with what I'm presented! :)) Your comment is most welcome and appreciated!! :)

Your luck helped you produce a fine work. Nice!

Mick Anderson replied:

Thanks Glenn! I bet you get plenty of chances to photography lightning in your neck of the woods :))

Extraordinary, Mick. What an intense beauty, and the quote is perfect. V/F

Mick Anderson replied:

This is probably the most dangerous type of photography that I do! And I love it :))

I came back to see this bolt again and all the dramatic surroundings The quotation with this is very good too. Jeff, I enjoy your site on FAA so much! Lf

Mick Anderson replied:

And did I mention it was LOUD?? :)) Thank you for your nice comments!!

WOW!! What an amazing capture, color and the quote makes for a breathtaking shot!! ....did I say WOW?!! v/f and to FB

Mick Anderson replied:

Thanks Jordan!! I wish I would have had the technology to capture lightning when I was in Glacier Park in Montana "way back when"... :))

WOW!! what a great capture of lightning. I've tried many times and never got a bolt looking that good.

Mick Anderson replied:

I have been fairly successful at doing my lightning photography hand held! I set for a medium aperture and about 1/60 sec, then set my focus manually for infinity and point toward the part of the cloud where all the action is. A fast trigger finger is the last ingredient! There are other ways, but this works for me just enough that I get a few good shots, both day and night :) Good luck -- I want to see your successful shots!! ~M

Magnificent image, Mick! f/v

Mick Anderson replied:

Thank you Heidi! It is certainly a rush to get out in the storm and attempt this kind of capture!! :)

Amazing shot, Mick! My neck of the woods/valley. Just beautiful.

Mick Anderson replied:

Thank you neighbor!! I love storms and I always attempt to capture these gorgeous explosions of nature! I was lucky on this one :)

Another gem with quote! Join us please!

Mick Anderson replied:

Oh Eti!! I missed your comment here -- so sorry! As you know by now I have indeed joined your wonderful group!! Thank you!!! :)

Very lovely :)

Mick Anderson replied:

Thanks Marilyn! I bet you get some fantastic storms there in the Toronto area :)

Wonderful image !!!!

Mick Anderson replied:

Thanks Sorin!! It's amazing to feel the air in a storm like that :)

Mick, W0W! Amazing capture. This is memorable and wonderful. F/V

Mick Anderson replied:

Thanks Anne-Elizabeth!! It was quite a storm that night, for sure... and LOUD!! :)

That sounds like a neat photo. Lightning is so fun to take photos of. I go storm chasing alot. I got a tornado photo in Durham, ca. I love your photo. I keep going back to your photo a lot. Thanks for the comments. Thats neat that you live in chico

Mick Anderson replied:

I got a very small funnel out of the bottom of a big cumulus cloud along the foothills once a long time ago... would love to see your tornado shot!! :)

awesome photo. Voted

Mick Anderson replied:

Abram, I got a lightning shot north of Chico a number of years ago that I still count as one of my best "good luck" photos... the bolt came straight from cloud to ground in the very center of my photograph! I may put that one up one day :)

Beautiful! Not something we get to see a lot of here in Oregon. Nice job, Mick. Vote!

Mick Anderson replied:

Yes, I agree... not too much lightning in this state, but when it does erupt it does a great job!! This was one of several lighting storms that came through the valley this one night. :)

Wonderful !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mick Anderson replied:

Thank you Anand!! Believe it or not, I "hand hold" my lightning shots :)

Your timing was great on this image Mick... a very nice shot of this bold of lighting.

Mick Anderson replied:

Timing is everything, for sure. I took this photo early in my digital experience -- my traditional "film" approach was to catch the best shot with a single press of the shutter button. NOW I take too many shots to count!! lol... :)

Great image!!!! v

Mick Anderson replied:

Thanks Greg! Fun and exciting to do, for sure :)

an awesome capture

Mick Anderson replied:

Thanks Jeff... years of trying and failing give me a few winners :)
