Description
Lightship XVII, built in 1895, is moored in Nyhavn. Lenght: 35.50m; Breadth: 6.59m; Draught: 3.5m; Engine: 135 hp, 3-cylinder Volund hot-bulb; Crew: 7 men.
Nyhavn is a great place to visit, have a meal or a drink while people watching or souvenir shopping.
Danish author Han Christian Andersen lived here in several apartments, over an 18 year period.
In olden times it was known for its bawdy sailors, drunken brawls and prostitution. Now a museum harbor, old ships line the streets and provide interesting photo opportunities.
The area is a popular tourist attraction, truly a fun place to visit.
