Description:

I came across this bird while researching the rhinoceros. They live in the same areas of Africa. The lilac breasted roller is so named because of its lilac-colored breast feathers and the rolling action it does in flight while trying to impress a potential mate. Drawn in colored pencil, background manipulated with Photoshop, 2008.
