Little Girl And Pet Rat
Angela A Stanton
Painting - Oil Pastel
This little girls is actually my granddaughter holding one of her pet rats called Spike. This rat is very VERY friendly. There are actually two rats, Mario is the fat one who does not like to come out of the cage and play. But Spike loves all the attention he can get! :)
This is a digital painting meaning all tools used by me--by hand and not automated--were done on the computer using special painting software with a very large tablet and pen where the pen acts like a brush. The paintings by hand using digital tools are equivalent in artistic quality to those done on paper or canvas. The difference is that there are no toxic chemical and thinners and no need to wait until the painting dries before one can continue. This allows me to create a painting in significantly shorter time than using conventional materials. It also means that the ecology and nature are less disturbed by my work than by working on canvas or paper. I have been a painter since my early childhood and switching to digital is a nicer way to paint. Digital does not mean cheap, it just means no stink and that you can purchase prints on paper or canvas or metal, or acrylic and even as a greeting card. Digital opens up options! Enjoy!
